Maple Oatmeal

Of all my favorite breakfast foods, oatmeal has to be the one I love the most on a cold day. It tastes delicious, is satisfying, the children like it and I can usually make it through my morning without getting hungry until lunch time. This is one of the ways I prepare our tasty oats. Hope you love it!

1/2 C Quick Oats
1/2 C water
1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
1-2 tsp. (to liking) Real Maple Syrup
1/2 evaporated milk
Skim Milk
Directions:
 Microwave oats and water for 2 min. in micrwavable dish. While hot, add all ingredients except the skim milk.
                              Pour oatmeal mixture into mug and add skim milk to desired fluency.
Enjoy!

Valen-tine

Well! I hope your Valentine's day was filled with  sweet love and a stronger appreciation for those blessed relationships in your life. Ours was enjoyable starting with the traditional surprise gift with homemade card from mom and dad in the bathroom:

To the heartshaped pancakes for breakfast

to the festive Valentine dinner (which I have no proof of *wimper*), kiss suckers at night

and all the school parties in between. We were feeling the fun of one of my very FAVORITE times of the year. Not to mention the sweetness of loving thoughts shared.
Lots of great projects coming up too!
1) bedroom reveal
2) what 10 year old Jeremy has been creating in the garage {truly AMAZING!}
3) reorganized order in the home, a few tips from this rescued mother of seven {that's me!}

...Just to name a few. Come back soon and leave me a word, because when you do, I love checking out what you've been up too ;)

Valentine Prescription Printable

I'm so excited! Remember how my next challenge was to learn to save files so that I could share them with you? I think I finally learned how, thanks to my completely AWESOME sister-in-law, Yari {speaking of who, you definately need to stop by and visit her blog---pronto like!} She's truly AMAZING.
So if you'd like to create your own Valentine Prescriptions, click on the picture below and print. I made it so that there are three print outs per page (as you can see):

Right mouse on the picture and print on sticker paper.
Checkout the origional post here.

Love that sense of accomplishment when learning and doing something is a success. Now to finish my son's room. More on that this upcoming week. Stay tuned! ;)

Valentine Prescription

Hey! I've actually finished a Valentine project BEFORE Valentine's Day. Even better, a whole week and a half ahead. I think you might be seeing a new side of me. Yeah. *snicker* Don't get your hopes too high.  It took me this long to recover from Christmas. Anyway, I'm really excited about this craft because as I was taking my thyroid medication and transferring the pills into a smaller container a couple days ago, I suddenly envisioned this idea and couldn't wait to put it in fruition! By the time I got to it Saturday, it was completely worked out in my mind. The thrilling part is having the finished project turn out just like I envisioned it.
love it when that happens!

So I peeled off the label to this bottle:

{if you don't have one like the above, any pill bottle will work, from herbal, to medical, to vitamin.}
Then I filled it with some "pills" (Valentine m&ms)
                          Got busy on my Hallmark Create a Card Gold. The frustrating part about this, is that I don't know how to turn my labels into a usable PDF file for you to use.
**UPDATE!!! I was able to make a printable version for you HERE

Printed it out on this sticky paper. {Which, by the way, I use for many projects and love.}
and wrapped it around the bottle, just like the pharmesist does when labeling our prescriptions.
I'm feeling like a professional! *Hahaha* That's truly joke.

But I am REALLY pleased with how it turned out! Now I will be creating a few more for the other empty bottles I have after cleaning out my medicine cupboard. My next challenge is to learn how to make these labels printable for you...

These will be fun to give away!

What do you think? I'd love to hear your ideas for "pill" names!

Cake Pops, really?!

I was so excited to get this cake pop maker for Christmas. I had wanted one for at least a year.

Nostalgia Electrics JFD-100 Cake Pop & Donut Hole Bakery

The children kept seeing it in the box on the Kitchen counter while I was trying to find a home for it, and just kept begging to make some. After all, wouldn't you since the pictures on that festive packaging look sO beautiful and tasty?

So we tried our hand at these blogland raved treats (can you see where this is heading?):

                                                                        (process)

(This is AFTER removing her chocolate covered clothing)
Nice, huh...

Even messy for the older ones *eh-hem*
So you see, we didn't have "Cake Pops". We had "Cake balls on a stick".
Do you think we're onto something?!

Hahaha!!
